Hey all, I am a noob to the forums as well as this outstanding webcomic. Within the passed few weeks, I noticed it was recommended on Shortpacked, GU Comics, and Templar, Arizona, so I figured I should check it out and it hasn't disappointed. I've spent the last 3 days catching up on the archives.

Umm, what else about myself, I'm an aspiring writer who wishes he could make his own webcomic, but can't draw.

Howdy all!

I'm really enjoying this comic. Just stumbled upon it about six hours ago, and I'm all caught up and hooked. Reiley, if you're the guy--money sent via PayPal for the entertainment you provided me. Love the artwork, characters, storyline, and attention to detail. If you're not the guy, then nudge the guy who is and tell 'im I appreciate his efforts.

I'm a retired military guy, still working in the military complex, in a thoroughly unexciting, unglamorous way. I'm married to a wonderful woman who shares my survivalist and firearms hobbies, and 'twixt the two of us we're raising three children, or they're raising us...I get that part confused sometimes.

I'm sort of a crusty old fart, and tend to stomp on unsubstantiated--I mean enjoy discussing! Discussing and debating! --the finer points of surviving the Zombacolypse.

Glad to be here!

Howdy. I am the guy and I am delighted to hear you are enjoying the strip so far, and thank you kindly for your generosity :]

Also, to answer a question you had in that other thread, I've kinda modelled Sixgun's revolvers off the aesthetic of the old Walker Dragoon. The guns I draw kinda half-straddle the line between actual-guns and GUN brand revolvers.

Just the fact that you KNOW what a Walker Dragoon is warms my heart. I shoot SASS, and use Ruger Vaqs chambered in .44Mag (.45 LC is great and all, but I'm kinda practical when it comes to firearms and don't like "exotic" rounds) and I am delighted to see some old iron in this comic!

If you're affiliated with other artists, you know how rare it is to find one that shoots!

Hey. I like comics. You have a comic. I like it. I also like forums. You have a forum.

Hey guys.
I've been reading Deadwinter since... *whistles* well, over a year at least. Really enjoy the comic, hence my presence and all. I have to admit, though... I thought this comic would have a bit heavier of a following. No offense or anything; just seems strange given the quality of the storylines and characters.

Regardless! Here's one more for the ranks of drooling fans. Albeit a bit more talkative of one. I'm generally not one to spout (just) nonsense when posting, but given the... uh... tranquility of this forum I'll try to restrain myself from posting like a passing brushfire every time I stop by. The length of my posts, however, may be rather unwieldy at times. Chances are there will be nothing done in that regard, but I'll try to keep a 1500 word cap if there isn't one. You are all doomed.

Fun times... well, not to those no inclined to read them.
Still! I'm not one for arguing stubbornly or anything. I'm just thorough. I just want to point out the deviation in case anyone is wary of me for whatever reason. I'm more of one to diffuse a situation rather than prove a point, anyway.

So, I have to question again, as my curiosity nibbles at me about it endlessly. How is this forum so lifeless? I've seen terrible comics with much more active forums - but then again most of those people on those bloated forums I don't really want to associate myself with and this comic does have nudity, which tends to restrict some of the publicity.
I don't mean to be pester, I'm just rather amazed and not willing to run off my own unfounded speculations.

Also, if this topic should be best moved somewhere else, I'll gladly take it elsewhere. Also, if it's a touchy subject for whatever reason, just tell me to shut up and I'll tag it as taboo.

I think most people who read the comic are content to just read it, or post about it on other forums. It's also a zombie story, so I don't reckon there's much room for community-building!

I ain't got no problems with a slow forum. My job's to make a comic and make a buck and by golly that's all I'm gonna worry about.

Also hello and welcome

But... zombies mass... zombies do things together... even if it's caused by the WANT syndrome.

Fair enough. Such a serene forum is probably great for you, personally, if for ease of keeping up with things.

Just pretend everyone else on the internet is a zombie and we are the last survivors.

It's probably that, anyway.

Or the people in trade chat on WoW?

...oh. When did this guy get here?

I don't think I like the way you look, new guy. You've got rookie eyes.

...naw. Welcome.

Thanks.
And ha, I'm no rookie to forums or zombies. I'm an old vet to an old, now very quiet (although not as quiet as here, as I've rather obnoxiously shown) forum for RPing. Lots of good times, sometimes involving zombies.

But that's not important. I didn't come here to RP; I came here to enjoy this comic. It'll just take me a while to adapt to the quaint surroundings.
